Egyptian-style Paradise

Golden Oasis

Dahab, which means gold in Arabic, is located about 100 km north of Sharm el Sheik, on the shores of South Sinai. Its location between mountains, palm tree gardens and the clear waters of the Red Sea offers a blend of fascinating underwater and above water experiences and sights, and it’s one of the most beautiful diving areas around the world. Dahab doesnt only attract divers, but also windsurfers, free-divers, sun-seekers, yogis and those who simply want to chill out and relax in one of the last authentic Egyptian-style paradise.

In the past, Dahab has been called Hippie Heaven and is also known as the Koh Samui of the Middle East. Dahab is the perfect place for diving, snorkeling, smoking shisha, safaris into the desert, or for a relaxing holiday. Today, this charismatic village offers an interesting mix of multicultural restaurants, coffee shops, ethnic mixes, bazaars and souks, nice camps and hotels and its share of local pets. Nature and animal lovers will be delighted by the typical sights of goat herds holding traffic, camel caravans and friendly cats and dogs. You can’t compare Dahab to the mass-touristic centres like Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh, here, everything is authentic, simpler and definitely unique.

The landscape is truly fascinating, with mountain and sea views, palm trees and fossils of an ancient reef that has now come above sea level. Coral fossils are still found embedded in rocks on the shore, as a reminder of their marine origin.

The gorgeous mountains and breathtaking desert and oasis offer great opportunities for safaris… A safari to Mount Sinai offers a unique experience: watch the mountains come alive with the sunrise, or enjoy the stars sparkling over the mountain landscape where Moses received the 10 Commandments.

A special experience is “the trip into the silence of the desert“. Far away from the lights, noises and smells of the city, you can enjoy fascinating days and nights full of clear skies and thousands of twinkling stars.
